2020 Coffee County Youth Deer Rally Cancelled

The annual Coffee County Youth Deer Rally that was scheduled for October 31 at the Coffee County Fairgrounds has been cancelled for this year.

TWRA Coffee County Wildlife Officer Tim Hancock told On Target News on Wednesday afternoon that the cancellation was made because of the concern about COVID-19.

Hancock told us that hopefully the Coffee County Youth Deer Rally will be held next year.

He said that Hunter Education can now be completed online or in person.

There is no longer a field day requirement for those who take hunter education online.

Visit www.hunter-ed.com/tennessee/ to take the exam and get hunter ed certified.

If you have taken the online course after September 1, 2019, and then could not find a field day to attend, you may log in to the course, print out a certificate and you will be considered Hunter Education Certified.

Volunteer hunter education instructors are teaching classes across the state with student numbers being restricted based on classroom size, not to exceed 25 students.

The statewide juvenile hunt will continue as always and this year it is being held October 31 and November 1.
