Unemployment Rate Down in Area Counties

Most of Tennessee’s 95 counties started 2021 with lower unemployment numbers, according to data released by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Seventy-eight counties went down. Tennessee School and Domestic-Related Crimes Decreased in 2020

A new study from Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) agents reveals both school and domestic-related crimes decreased in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. While domestic crimes only decreased slightly at about 2.6% year over year, school crimes dropped a significant 59% from 2018 to 2020, largely due to the pandemic and shutdowns. TBI said 69,385 …

Chattanooga voted to host TSSAA BlueCross Bowl

On Tuesday the TSSAA Board of Control announced that Chattanooga has been voted to host the 2021 and 2022 Blue Cross Bowl. The TSSAA vote was decided during a meeting a Siegel High School. Finley Stadium will now host the State Football Championship games. Tennessee Techs Tucker Stadium has been hosting Championship games since 2009.
