2022 Tennessee Football Schedule Released

The SEC released it’s 2022 football schedules Tuesday night and Tennessee’s features a change to the non-conference slate and their first trip to Death Valley in 12 years.

The Vols have canceled their scheduled matchup with Army, replacing the Black Knights with Akron on September 17th. The change will cost Tennessee an extra $100,000. They were set to pay Army $1.4 million for the trip to Knoxville. Instead, they’ll pay the Black Knights $500,000 for canceling the game and Akron $1 million for their appearance in Neyland Stadium.

The Vols open the season September 3rd at home vs Ball State, September 10th is the return trip to Pittsburgh for the 2nd edition of the Johnny Majors Classic. UT returns home to host Akron in week three before opening SEC play at home vs Florida on September 24th.

After a bye week the Vols visit LSU on October the 8th,then its back to Neyland stadium for home bouts with Alabama October 15th, UT Martin October 22nd and Kentucky on October 29th.

Tennessee closes the regular season with 3 out of four on the road in November starting at Georgia November 5th, the final home game of the year is November 12th vs Missouri before road trips to South Carolina November 19th and Vanderbilt November 26th.

Will is a Middle Tennessee native having been born and raised in Winchester. His love of radio began as a child listening to local stations on the way to school or while falling asleep at night. After High School, where he was active in student media, he attended the University of Tennessee majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media while covering sports for the campus radio station. He then moved into the business professionally as a board op/producer for Cumulus of Knoxville and the Vol Network. His radio journey then took him to Louisiana where he was the lead producer for ESPN New Orleans. After returning home to Winchester, he spent several years broadcasting local sports for stations in Franklin County before joining the Bowman Family. When he’s not at the station, Will enjoys spending time with his wife Shaina and his two fur babies (Toulouse and Belle), cheering on the Vols, Preds and Saints and in the kitchen or behind the grill trying out new recipes.
