3 Coffee County Jail Employees Test Positive for Covid-19

On May 27, 2020 the Coffee County sheriff’s department was notified by a staff member that they have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.

This is the first positive result the department has had by either staff or inmate. In the press release it was stated that as of this date the department has a total of 3 employees that have tested positive for Covid-19. These three employees share an apartment together.

Sheriff Chad Partin says they have notified the remaining staff and have provided necessary information regarding testing.

He added, since inception, his department has followed all National, State, and local protocols regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.

Partin says that the contact originated from outside Coffee County.

The sheriff says, as of this date there have been no positive tests within the Coffee County Jail population.
