A horrific tragedy occurred Monday afternoon in Shelbyville when a 6-year-old boy accidentally fatally shot himself.
According to the Shelbyville Times-Gazette, the mother called 911 shortly before 2 p.m. She told the operators her son had accidentally shot himself in the head and was not breathing,
The child was airlifted to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
