Arrest made after Crime Spree in Grundy and Marion Counties

An overnight theft spree came to an end Tuesday morning around 7:45am. Justin T. Heffner (37) from Coalmont was taken into custody after a night of thefts.

Heffner allegedly stole a truck at L&L Market. That truck was recovered by Marion County Sheriff’s Office near the Mountain Mart on Hwy 150. Marion County discovered that another truck had been stolen in that area.

A little after 7am deputies responded to a stolen motorcycle call at the TDOT garage in Coalmont. While taking the report, deputies observed the motorcycle pass by the garage. While searching for the motorcycle, deputies identified the tan truck that had been stolen in Marion County. The driver was Heffner. Through the course of the investigation deputies found the stolen motorcycle at Big Creek Beach. The investigation is still ongoing.
