The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs says they are experiencing an alarming rise in the number of COVID-19 cases within our Veterans. To support the safety and well-being of Veterans, effective immediately NO ONE is allowed entry into any Tennessee Valley Healthcare System facility without a proper face covering. Veterans will be provided a mask if they do not have one.
Veterans who are unable to wear a mask or refuse to wear a mask should contact their clinics for appropriate alternative appointments (e.g. VA Video Connect / telephone).
They now know from recent studies that a significant portion of individuals with coronavirus lack symptoms and can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms. This means the virus can spread between people interacting in close proximity—for example, speaking, coughing, or sneezing—even if those people are not exhibiting symptoms.
