On Tuesday May 24th at approximately 10:30am, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to a reported burglary in progress in the Keith Springs Mountain area.
Upon arriving on the scene, law enforcement officials did contact two males attempting to commit a burglary. A short pursuit ensued, and one male was taken into custody. The second male was able to flee the scene but was later taken into custody at a residence in Franklin County.
Sheriff’s Office Investigators were able to recover a stolen ATV and return it to the owner. The two men apprehended and charged were:
Corey H. Abbott of Winchester, TN. was charged with Burglary, Theft of Property $2,500/ $10,000, Simple Possession/Casual Exchange. Abbott is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail under a $100,000 bond and has a court date set for Monday June 27th in Franklin County General Sessions Court at 8:00am.
Jason G. Dixon of Belvidere, TN. was charged with Burglary, Reckless Driving and Felony Evading. Dixon is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail under a $100,000 bond and has a court date set for Monday June 27th in Franklin County General Sessions Court at 8:00am.
