Coffee County Register of Deeds Open for Business, but Doors Not

Coffee County Register of Deeds Donna Toney announced on Monday that the doors to the deeds office remain closed due to not having the glass shields installed at this time.

Monday morning a citizen came to the door coughing and another person with them got sick at their stomach at the office door area. Toney stated this is what causes concerns. She said please do not go to a public office or anywhere if you are sick.

Toney added, “In almost all cases we can email, fax or mail you any requested copies without having to come to the office sick. We are performing duties that must be completed in real time with recordings and there are only four employees. We have not stopped recording the real estate ownerships, mortgages and all other important legal documents since Covid19 hit.”

The county’s website is http://www.coffeecountytn.org/. The Register of Deeds office can be reached by phone at (931) 723-5130.
