In the season opener for all teams, the Coffee County Middle School and East Middle School split basketball games on Monday evening. In the first game of the night, the Red Raiders jumped out to 44-1 lead and cruised to 66-2 to win. Olivia Vinson and Channah Gannon each tossed in 20 points and Sophie McIntuff and Natalie Barnes added 8 each. In the boys action, East Middle ran out to 19 point lead at the half and held off a furious rally to win 54-50. East Middle was led in scoring by Keegan Taylor with 16 points. Bobo, Khaui Johnson tallied 12 points and Alex Bobo along with Logan Prosser pumped in 10 points apiece. Cole Pippenger led the Raiders with 15 points teammates Evan Kirby and Brady Wright contributing 12 and 9 points as well. Coffee County will travel to Cowan to take on South Middle. East Middle will play North Middle on Thursday as well.
