The Tennessee Department of Health reported 8,213 new cases of COVID-19 and 62 deaths in the state on Wednesday. The new case total is a new record for a 24-hour period.
The Department of Health reports that there are currently 40,940 active cases, 5,171 deaths and 2,605 Tennesseans currently hospitalized, which is also a new record.
