COVID-19 Cases have Risen Drastically in Coffee and Grundy Counties in the Past 20 Days

Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed 2,104 additional cases of COVID-19 across the state on Sunday, September 27, bringing the state to 192,995 total cases.

TDH also confirmed 3 additional deaths, bringing Tennessee up to 2,377 total deaths.

Two counties in our coverage area have been steadily going up in active cases. Coffee County currently has 241, twenty days ago Coffee County had 124. Grundy County currently has 104, twenty days ago they only had 17 active cases.

These new numbers have occurred after the state changed their way of calculating cases, which brought active case numbers down. Example: Coffee County dropped from 300 to 114 when the state made the change in late August.
