COVID-19 Update for Thursday August 27

The Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed additional cases and deaths related to COVID-19 across the state on Thursday, August 27. The health department reported 1,826 new cases, bringing the state to 149,179 total cases, a 1.2% day-to-day increase since Wednesday. Of the total cases, 145,743 are confirmed and 3,436 are probable.

Tennessee’s seven-day new cases average increased slightly to 1,429 additional cases per day.

TDH also confirmed 25 additional deaths, bringing Tennessee up to 1,673 total deaths. Thursday is the 16th day in August the state department has reported 20+ deaths.

Out of the confirmed positive cases, 111,416 have recovered, an increase of 1,651 recoveries. Tennessee currently has 36,090 active cases.

*Bedford County: 14 died; 1,094 confirmed/probable cases; 821 recovered; 259 active cases

*Cannon County: 0 died; 188 confirmed/probable cases; 148 recovered; 40 active cases

*Coffee County: 6 died: 742 confirmed/probable cases; 455 recovered; 281 active cases

*Franklin County: 4 died; 460 confirmed/probable; 323 recovered; 133 active cases.

*Grundy County: 2 died; 147 confirmed/probable; 111 recovered; 34 active cases

*Lincoln County: 1 died; 396 confirmed/probable; 261 recovered; 134 active cases.

*Moore County: 0 died; 89 confirmed/probable; 50 recovered; 39 active cases.

*Rutherford County: 67 died; 7,670 confirmed/probable; 5,432 recovered; 2,171 active cases.

*Warren County: 7 died; 798 confirmed/probable; 505 recovered; 286 active cases.
