Dr. Adolph Brown, III announced as TCS Convocation Guest Speaker

Learn. Laugh. Lead.

Those three words will be instrumental at Convocation this year as Tullahoma City Schools is pleased to welcome guest speaker Dr. Adolph Brown, III. The 2022-2023 TCS Convocation will take place inside the Tullahoma High School gymnasium at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 25. Breakfast will be served beforehand in the cafeteria lobby beginning at 7:30 a.m.

“I am so excited to welcome back our faculty and staff members for the start of what is undoubtedly going to be an excellent 2022-23 school year,” said TCS Director of Schools, Dr. Catherine Stephens. “As we begin the fall semester, I am thrilled to announce that Dr. Brown will be this year’s guest speaker. I have been lucky enough to see him present his message, which is powerful, and I believe it will resonate fully with all those on hand during this year’s convocation ceremony.”

Dr. Brown is an American businessman, mental health expert, clinical psychologist, investor, author, master teacher, urban and rural school educator, research scientist and keynote speaker. For over 30 years, Dr. Brown has researched, field-tested and implemented concrete strategies to support and enhance schools and businesses worldwide.

Dr. Brown is best known for inspiring all who hear him to learn, laugh and lead. He credits much of his success to the luxury of humble beginnings of being reared by a single-parent mother in abject poverty of the inner city housing projects infested with gangs, drugs and violence.  His oldest sibling and only brother Oscar was murdered when Adolph was only 11 years old.  Young Adolph often received a respite when he was sent to spend summers with his grandfather in a rural farming country and when he was sent to the library for time-outs in elementary school.  Adolph became the first in his family of five to participate in Head Start, graduate high school, and attend college.

Dr. Brown is the author of several acclaimed books, including the international mental wellness best seller, Two Backpacks. Other best sellers that Dr. Brown has authored include a soft business skills classic – Championship Habits, and the education classic – Real Talk. He is also the co-author with his third-grade teacher of a children’s book, It’s Gonna Be A Great Day! Dr. Brown’s message has resonated with audiences worldwide, and he is extremely passionate and committed to helping others learn, laugh and lead in all walks of life while spreading the message of love, light and insight wherever he goes.

“Members of our TCS Board of Education, my assistant and I were fortunate to hear Dr. Brown at a recent Tennessee School Board Association conference. From that experience, I can say that Dr. Brown’s message is one that all TCS employees will thoroughly enjoy; his story is powerful and a great reminder of the impact a teacher and mentor has on a young person,” Dr. Stephens said. “I cannot wait to hear Dr. Brown speak and celebrate the beginning of this new school year as we learn, laugh and lead together.”
