Franklin County Sheriff Employees Finish Special Training

Members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office recently completed training in Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention.  

CIT training is funded by a federal grant and conducted by the National Alliance on Mental Health Illness in Tennessee with the support of the Tennessee Department of Corrections and a statewide taskforce of stakeholders including law enforcement, mental health care professionals, advocates and families. It is the goal of the Sheriff’s Office to be as trained and prepared as possible to aid citizen’s in need. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to make every effort to be as prepared and able to provide aid to citizens of Franklin County in any and every way possible.

Completing the program: Capt. Greg Lewis, Lt. George Dyer, Inv. Kalyn Machuta, Inv. Curtis Francis, Corporal Adam Smith, Deputy Samuel Penny, Lt. Nikki Nash and nurse Jason Taylor completed the 40-hour training from November 30th through December 4th, 2020.

He is currently the play-by-play voice of the Coffee County Red Raiders (31 years) on The Rooster 101.5 and can be heard M-F broadcasting our local news. Lucky has done play-by-play for 3,993 (and counting) sports events on Radio & TV. He also served four years as the Public Information Officer for the Coffee Co. Sheriff's Dept. and taught Radio/TV for six years at Grundy County High School.
