A deputy with the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office was arrested Sunday morning.
Monteagle Police responded to a trespassing call around 12:45 a.m. on Bluff Circle where they located Grundy County SRO Coby Scissom.
Witnesses stated that Scissom had been texting his estranged wife regarding their children, and when she didn’t respond he went to the residence where he attempted to push his way inside.
Scissom has been charged with aggravated criminal trespassing and prohibited weapons for brass knuckles found in his possession.
Scissom is currently assigned to the SRO Division at Swiss Memorial School. He has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending the outcome of the internal affairs investigation.
The initial court appearance is set for November 10, 2021 at 9 AM.
