Legal Aid Society Help Clinic at Bright Temple Church in Shelbyville

Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands will be offering a free walk-in legal help clinic on the morning of Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at Bright Temple Church, located at 516 Elm Street, Shelbyville, TN.
Attorneys will be available to meet with walk-in clients from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Clients should plan to arrive before 11:30 a.m. to ensure that there is time to meet with a lawyer. Attorneys at the clinic can assist with many civil legal issues, including:
• Advance healthcare directives
• Powers of attorney
• Bankruptcy
• Conservatorship
• Employment
• Family problems
• Wage claims
• Wills/estates
• Homeownership
• Landlord/tenant issues
• Debt collection
• TennCare benefits
• SNAP benefits
• Families First benefits
• Living will car purchases
• Immigration
• Repair problems
Clients need to bring any paperwork that they would like an attorney to look over, the name and address of the person who they would like to be their power of attorney (if applicable), as well as proof of their own identity.
