Man gets 25 Years in Prison for Crime Committed in Manchester in 2019

Ricky Guy Crews, 50 of Gallatin has pleaded guilty to a crime that occurred in Manchester nearly 2 years ago.

Crews pled guilty recently to especially aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon. He had been charged with attempted murder, but that charge was dropped after a plea bargain was struck.

According to a police report from the Manchester Police Department, on July 13, 2019 Norman Vetter was leaving Foothills Crafts. Crews followed Vetter to his vehicle and asked for a ride. After leaving with Vetter, Crews drew a knife and demanded a ride to Nashville. Vetter explained that his wife was expecting him and drove back to Foothills Crafts. Upon arriving at Foothills, Crews pulled his knife again and demanded a ride to Murfreesboro, but Vetter said no again. Crews stabbed Vetter and a struggled ensued. Vetter got the knife away from Crews and threw it under the vehicle. Vetter walked across Hwy 53 to Los 3 Amigos to get help.

Manchester Officer Ben Sneed located Crews and made the arrest.

Crews received 25-years for stabbing Vetter.
