Manchester Police Warns about Scam

Manchester Police Department received a report of a SCAM attempt at a local business. An individual attempted to pay for some services, but their card was denied.

The individual appeared to be on the phone with his credit card company. He told the employee that his credit card company would assist them in bypassing his credit limit. The individual attempted to persuade the employee to change the settings on their machine. It was later determined that this could have compromised their machine and given access to recent purchases if the employee would have done it.

Manchester Police reminds encourages everyone to be aware of this. If it doesn’t seem safe, it probably isn’t.
