Middle Tennessee State University cancels Spring graduation amid COVID-19 pandemic.
According to officials, the ceremony was set for May 8th and 9th. The decision comes after the CDC put out guidelines for preventing the spread of coronavirus and Governor Bill Lee implemented the “Safer Home Order” as a precaution for Tennesseans.
Reports show that spring graduates will be invited to march in any future commencement exercises, including the Summer ceremony set for August 8th and the winter ceremony set for December 12th.
The Town of Woodbury has been notified that a person, who had very recently performed work within the town hall has tested positive for COVID-19. This person is NOT an employee of the Town of Woodbury.
The safety and health of their employees is top priority; therefore the building will be closed for a professional deep cleaning and sanitizing.
The town’s mayor apologized to citizens for the inconvenience and we hope to be able to resume operating again as soon as possible.

The State Division of Natural Areas has closed Short Spring Natural Area. In the interest of public health, Short Springs State Natural is closed to the public. This closure will last until April 10th, at which time staff will re-evaluate the situation. This is being done because it is attracting people from all over the an eighty plus mile radius. Please remember to limit travel and avoid crowded parks and trails.
During this National State of emergency, Grundy County and the City of Coalmont, Tennessee, are asking that all Off Highway Vehicles (OHV) riders stay home and stay safe. Many riders travel to Grundy County for their off-road fun, but this is increasing the risk of transmitting the Coronavirus or contracting the virus.
The City of Coalmont has closed the Fire Hall, the area around the EMS station and the school parking lot to all OHVs, tow rigs and trailers until April 30,2020.
Bedford County Tire Disposal Center, on State Route 82 south of Shelbyville, will be closed for the month of April due to revised county work schedules.
