New Temp Judge in Coffee County–5 Locals pick up papers to run

Coffee County Judge Tim Brock passed away in November while in Nevada at a conference.
Brock handled general sessions and juvenile court. Since then the other county judges have taken on an extra caseload.
It has been announced that the Tennessee Supreme Court has appointed Judge John P. Damron to the job until a new judge is elected. The primary is in March of 2020 and the general election is in August. The elected judge would serve out Brock’s term until the fall of 2022.
Damron served until 2014 for Maury, Giles and Lawrence counties.
Five local attorneys have picked up papers to run in March, with one qualifying. All 5 are republicans; Jason Huskey, Stacy Lynch, Greg Perry, Jason Ponder and Jesse Stockwell. Lynch is the only one that has qualified so far.
The primary is March 3, 2020, with early voting taking place February 12-25.
