On Wednesday night Coffee County Red Raiders and Lady Raiders dominated the court picking up a pair of wins in District 8-AAA tournament action.
The Red Raiders boys squad won in a close matchup at ‘The Patch’ defeating the Falcons of Lincoln County 53-51.
In the first half of play the Raiders came out strong but trailed Lincoln County with the Falcons going into the locker room on top at the half. The Red Raiders came out in the second half keeping the same pace and dominating the Falcons by keeping a tight defense and allowing numerous turnovers in Coffee County’s favor. The Raiders held on at the buzzer to pick up a District 8-AAA tournament win.
Connor Shemwell posted 14 points on the night earning Crazy Daisies Player of the Game. Trenton Scrivnor added 12 points for the Raiders and Hayden Hullett chipped in 8 points to help the Red Raiders secure the win for Head Coach Micah Williams on his 33rd birthday.

The Lady Raiders decimated the Lady Lions of Columbia Central picking up the semi-final District 8-AAA tournament win for Coffee County 74-23.
The Lady Raiders shocked the Lady Lions by leading in the first half of play going into the locker room on top 39-16.
The Lady Raiders went into the second half with more intensity than ever allowing as the mercy rule went into effect.
Chole Gannon lead the way for the Lady Raiders by notching 25 points to earn Crazy Daises Player of the Game. Bella Vinson scored 20 points on the night for Coffee County and Jalie Ruehling posted 15 points to help the Lady Raiders pick up the District 8-AAA semi-final tournament win.
The Red Raider boys’ and girls’ teams will host the District 8-AAA Championship games at the Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gymnasium on Friday.
