Last Week the Moore County Blue Raiders boys squad finished a tough week in the District 8-A Tournament.
On Tuesday the Blue Raiders fell in a close matchup against the Eagles of Eagleville 54-50 at home in the semifinal round of the District 8-A Tournament. The Blue Raiders dominated the court leading the Eagles 13-6 at the end of the first quarter. Eagleville answered back by outscoring Moore County to end the second quarter on top 25-19. Out of halftime the Blue Raiders played tough but still trailed the Eagles 40-26 at the end of the third quarter. Moore County rallied back in the fourth quarter, but Eagleville held on to the lead and ended the semifinal round of the District 8-A Tournament with the W. Brayden Cashion lead the way for Moore County posting 18 points. Will Harder scored 12 points on the night. Riley Holman notched 7 points for the Blue Raiders.
On Thursday the Moore County Blue Raiders lost a heartbreaker to the Champions of Cascade 56-47 on the road in the consolation round of the District 8-A Tournament. the Blue Raiders came out strong with a 12-10 lead over the Champions at the end of the first quarter. Moore County held their lead in the second quarter over Cascade to end the first half of play 21-19. Out of halftime the Champions gained momentum in the third quarter to pull past the Blue Raiders and lead by single digits 37-35. Moore County stayed tough in the fourth quarter but unfortunately fell to Cascade in the consolation round of the District 8-A Tournament. Riley Holman led the way for the Blue Raiders posting 10 points. Andrew Copeland and Will Harder both scored 9 points on the night. Brayden Cashion and Dylan Scruggs both notched 7 points to help Moore County finish strong.
