Red Raiders fall at Columbia on Saturday

The Coffee County boys’ basketball team traveled to Columbia for game on Saturday afternoon. After waiting for nearly an hour for the referees to show up for the game the Raiders were able to grab an 8-point lead at halftime, 22-14.

The Lions would catch fire in the 3rd, outscoring Coffee County 19-4 for a 33-26 advantage.

Columbia led by 16 in the 4th before the Raiders made a run, but it was not enough as the Lions picked up the District 8-AAA win, 50-44.

The Crazy Daises Player of the Game Kyle Farless hit for 15 and Jaxson Vaughn scored 11, all in the 2nd half.

Coffee County will travel to Shelbyville on Tuesday night for girls and boys action. Tipoff is set for 6pm and you can hear the games beginning at 5:45pm on The Rooster 101.5.
