On Wednesday, the TSSAA Board of Control chose contingency plans for the start of high school football and soccer at a meeting at Siegel High School.
The contingency plan for girls soccer means the season will start on Sept. 7 and the postseason will run from Nov. 11-14. For football, the board chose the hybrid plan (built off of option 2) which allows the TSSAA to have a week-by-week road map. But the hybrid plan did not mention a clear start date for football.
Here is how coaches, parents and players reacted on Twitter.
“let’s do what we can to keep case numbers going in the right direction so these girls can have a season.
Players make good choices. Your actions could affect your entire team.”
“Thank you @tssaa for not canceling the kids season this year! They work hard to be able to go out and compete! Now, explain to me the scheduling.”
We still don’t know when we will play but at least we have a plan with lots of regulations.”
“Let me know when you know lol.”
