Update from TSSAA for attending Indoor High School Sporting Events

On Tuesday Governor Bill Lee extended his executive order along with TSSAA Guidelines for limiting indoor social gatherings.

The executive order was dated to end on January 19th but has now been extended through February 27th. The extension of the executive order is in place to help promote and support the health and safety of student athletes as well as officials and game administrators at school sporting events.

The order has also added a new clause to the mix allowing grandparents of student athletes to attend ball games and athletic events.

The TSSAA is still emphasizing their policies on requiring fans to continue to wear masks while in attendance as well as temperature checks upon arrival at athletic venues and referring to social distance guidelines. The TSSAA wants to remind spectators that when in attendance if any social distancing guidelines are not followed properly, they could potentially harm the safety of student athletes and officials or possibly jeopardize the completion of the season.
