Pioneers Down Raiders 35-19

Warren County’s star CJ Taylor rushed for 2 touchdowns and threw for 2 more as the Warren County beat Coffee County Friday night.

The Red Raiders took the opening drive for a 7 minute impressive start but a controversial non-call swung that momentum to the Pioneers. Instead of a touchdown or the ball being spot at the 1 yard line, the officials ruled a fumble which Clay Thompson returned 100 yards for a Pioneer touchdown.

Warren County would add two more TD’s before CJ Anthony got the Red Raiders on the board with an 80 yard kickoff return.

The Red Raiders would exchange touchdowns in the second half with the Pioneers. The final score Pioneers 35 Red Raiders 19. The loss drops Coffee County to 4-4 while Warren County remains perfect at 8-0.

Other TD’s on the night came from LB Matthew Pittman who recovered a fumble and ran 45 yards for a score. His teammate LB Tristan Galy, who was named the Crazy Daisies Player of the Game, returned an interception 49 yards for a touchdown for another score.

This Friday night the Raiders will travel to Murfreesboro to take on the #1 ranked team in Class 6-A and region foe Oakland Patriots. Airtime 6:30 p.m. on The Rooster 101.5.
