Raiders Run Past Panthers

Coffee County got a big night from Sophomore running back Konor Heaton as he had 120 yards rushing on 19 carries and two touchdowns as the Raiders defeated Maplewood 37-20. Heaton scored on runs of 1 and 7 yards.

Quarterback Connor Shemwell had a 1-yard TD run and had touchdown pass to Kelvin Verge. Tailback Marshall Haney, who did not start because of an injury, ripped off a 49-yard run in the second half.

Coffee County had 415 yards total offense, including 308 on the ground.

The win improved Coffee County to 4-3 on the season. Maplewood dropped to 0-3. The 4 wins is the most wins for the Raiders since the 2007 team that also won four.

Coffee County is back at home Friday night as the undefeated Warren County Pioneers. Hear the game live on the Rooster 101.5 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
