Edward Gibson Burklin, 53 of Shelbyville was recently arrested in Tullahoma. The man was charged with possession of drugs, possession of explosives, driving without a license and violation of the open container law. The explosives were reported as being homemade bombs.
Tullahoma questioned the man at a storage unit, and he had no license. Police called for the vehicle he and passenger were in to be impounded.
During the process of doing inventory police found a gun with its serial number removed along with a meth pipe and what appeared to be an explosive device.
Officers then searched the storage unit, which Burklin had reportedly rented and discovered drugs including oxycodone, hydrocodone, Alprazolam and 40 grams of marijuana.
Federal agents were called to the scene once police found out Burklin was a convicted felon for armed robbery.
Four explosive devices were in the vehicle and components used to make explosive devices. Two fake devices were also located in the vehicle.
