Shelbyville Youth Pastor Charged with 4 Counts of Statutory Rape

29-year-old Esteban David Carrera was arrested recently by Shelbyville Police and charged with four counts of statutory rape by an authority figure.

The Shelbyville Times-Gazette reports that Carrera is a youth pastor at the Beth Sar Shalom Church on Madison Street in Shelbyville where his father David is the founding pastor.

Shelbyville Police allege sexual contact with a teenage girl occurred at the church but not during service times.

The preliminary investigation indicates the incidents occurred during 2020 and possibly in 2019.
