Stolen TDOT Truck and an Attempted Robbery in Grundy County

In the early morning hours of July 4, Grundy County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary call at Towne Market in Gruetli-Laager.

Surveillance footage revealed a white Dodge Ram 2500 pick-up truck with TDOT markings at the front door. Masked suspects were seen on video, but they left store without taking anything.

It was reported that a chain had been hooked to the door, pulling it from the building.

Deputies recovered the truck around 6:30 p.m. on July 4 in Gruetli-Laager with minor damage and the keys were found inside the cab.

Officials reported that a mask was inside the truck that will be sent to the TBI Crime Lab for DNA analysis. No arrests have been made.
