TCAT and Human Services to Share Coffee County Owned Building

The Coffee County Commission voted recently 19-0 on agreement for the county-owned vocational rehabilitation building at 91 Volunteer Parkway to be used by the Tennessee College of Applied Technology and Department of Human Services.

The two entities will occupy the building and share all utility and maintenance for the location.

TCAT has agreed to spend $250,000 for upgrades and improvements. TCAT will also spend $200,000 for new equipment.

Tennessee College of Applied Technology will use the building for an industrial program in Coffee County with day and night classes. TCAT will be adding a nursing program at the location and possibly other programs like machine tool technology.

DHS and TCAT will lease the building on equal costs for at least 5 years after the current DHS lease is up in October of 2022.
