Unemployment Rate Drops in All 95 Counties

The end of seasonal work at the start of the new year was one of the contributing factors that led to higher county unemployment rates across Tennessee in January. While statewide unemployment numbers are adjusted to consider the impacts of seasonal labor, county unemployment rates are not adjusted.

Each of Tennessee’s 95 counties experienced an increase in unemployment during January.

Coffee County went up from 3.1 percent in December to 3.3 in January.

Bedford County rose from 3% to 3.3.

Franklin County went 2.9 percent in December to 3.4 in January.

Grundy County jumped from 4.1 to 4.6 percent.

Lincoln County saw its rate go from 3.1 to 3.4

Moore County went up slightly from 2% in December to 2.2 in January.

Warren County had the largest rise in the area, going from 3.5 percent in December to 4.4 in January.
