University of the South in Sewanee Vice-Chancellor Reuben E. Brigety II stepped down in December amid reports that he was President Joe Biden’s pick for U.S. ambassador to South Africa.
On Monday (Feb. 7), the White House announced Brigety’s nomination.
Brigety currently serves as an Adjunct Senior Fellow for African Peace and Security at the Council on Foreign Relations, and as a Member of the Board of Counselors of McLarty Associates in Washington
