The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are looking into the cause of death of 27-year-old Gunnar Roepke of Tullahoma who died Saturday night in Manchester. The man was in custody at the Coffee County Jail.
Coffee County District Attorney Craig Northcott said jail staff and medical personnel found the inmate unresponsive around 6:30pm. NARCAN and CPR were administered by corrections and medical staff.
Roepke was taken to Unity Medical Center in Manchester where he was pronounced dead.
According to reports, Roepke was booked in at the Coffee County Jail on Friday because of a domestic issue.
Northcott told On Target News that he requested the TBI to investigate just to ensure an outside agency can review. Northcott added that at this point no foul play or misconduct is suspected.
