On Thursday, Tyson officials said they would not be operating over the weekend through Monday at the processing plant located in Shelbyville. This is so they can do a deep cleaning and sanitation of common areas.
On Wednesday, it was announced that the poultry plant had 79 workers test positive for Covid-19.
Tyson officials said the plant will close Friday night and reopen for operations on Tuesday morning.
