Warning from the Coffee Co. Sheriff’s Department about another Scam

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Department has heard from area citizens regarding them receiving calls from a restricted number advising they are from an attorney’s office.

The calls state that they will be served papers from the sheriff’s department about this matter or they can take care of it over the phone. If asked for a call back number, they give a number that is not valid. Be aware that this is a scam.

If you suspect that you may have a civil paper, you can call the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department at (931) 728-3591 and they will advise if you have an outstanding civil warrant. They do not take care of these issues over the phone and do not call to advise individuals that they have a warrant.
