Despite the fear of the Coronavirus, the Tennessee Department of Health confirmed Friday that there has been an 11th pediatric flu death in the state. The state is only allowed to announce the deaths of children and women that are pregnant.
According to a health department spokesperson, at least 3 children died from the Middle Tennessee region, with 6 dead from East Tennessee and 2 dead from West Tennessee.
Health department officials warn parents of young children to make sure they are protected with flu vaccines. Most local health departments have the flu vaccine still available for free.
