The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a scam affecting the community.
The scam caller allegedly has knowledge that the citizen has a family member in jail. The caller goes on to say that there is a fine involved, and they need to pay the fine for their family member to be released.
This scam also involves the scammer coming to the citizens residence after the initial call is made requesting money. Please be weary of such scams!
