Bedford County Mayor Declares April as David Orr Organ Donation Awareness Month

On Wednesday, Bedford County Mayor Chad Graham signed a proclamation declaring April as David Orr Organ Donation Awareness Month.

David Orr, who died in 2015, was a two-time lung transplant recipient and an advocate for organ donation, a role he shared with his wife, Donna, who has continued the work since her husband’s passing.

Also on hand for the ceremony were transplant recipients John Clayton, Pam Cooper, and Kim Reed, as well as Bedford County Clerk Donna Thomas, whose office actively promotes the signing of organ donation cards.
