Bedford County Schools Announces Changes in Administrator Positions

Patrick Hasty

Superintendent of Bedford County Schools (BCS) Dr. Tammy Garrett has announced changes for two middle school principal positions for the 2024-2025 school year. Patrick Hasty, currently principal at Harris Middle School will be transferring to Cascade Middle School as principal, and Susan Huff, currently principal at Cascade Middle School, will be transferring to a leadership support role at the central office.

Garrett met with Harris Middle faculty and staff and Assistant Superintendent Tim Harwell met with Cascade Middle to inform them of the change, and parents were communicated with via all-call and email.

“What is best for students?’ We ask ourselves this daily, and we make decisions using this filter,” explained Garrett. “We also have to do what is best for all of our employees so they can continue to grow professionally and find success in their careers. I believe we are putting these two dedicated, talented educators into environments not only where they will help this district find more success but also where their strengths and talents will best be used.”

Garrett said that soon they will be posting the Harris Middle School principal position and going through the interview process to find a replacement.

Susan Huff

Garrett said, “I know that these two educators love these schools, their students and this community. I am confident they both will continue to work hard for our students. We are excited to see what accomplishments will come under the leadership of Mr. Hasty and Mrs. Huff.”
