Cats and Lady Cats bring Championships to T-Town

It was quite the weekend for Tullahoma baseball and softball as the Lady Cats won their first District Tournament Title since 2015 Friday and the Wildcats claimed their second Region Championship in three years Saturday.

After dropping the first game of the evening to Marshall County 7-6 The Lady Cats ralled to take the winner take all second game 11-10.

Kylee Holt led Tullahoma at the plate in game one going 3-3 with a stolen base and two RBI.

Madison Goad provided the spark in game two reaching in all five of her plate appearances, scoring four runs and swiping a base.

Tullahoma hosts Upperman tonight at 6:00 in the Region 4-3A Semifinals.

Saturday the Wildcats took advantage of an error by the Upperman third baseman on a short throw home to score two runs on the play and three total in the inning. That would give the Wildcats a lead, that thanks to the combined efforts of Baylen Tuten and Hunter Hogan on the mound, they wouldn’t surrender downing the Bees 5-2 in the Region 4-3A title game. Tuten struck out 5 and limited Upperman to two runs in 4.2 innings of work while Hogan struck out 6 across 2.1 innings of relief.

The Wildcats will host a sectional series vs the region 3 runner up beginning Wednesday.
