Tullahoma scored early and often to advance to the second round of the 4A State football playoffs with a 49-12 win over Chester County on a crisp Friday night at Wilkins Stadium in Tullahoma.
As has been their M.O. all season the Wildcats shared the love to build their commanding advantage Ryan Scott threw a pair of touchdowns (39 yards to Krys Uselton and 41 yards to Jacob Dixon) and Keishawn Cummings had a pair of rushing touchdowns (5 yards and 18 yards) in the first half as Tullahoma built a 42-6 advantage at the break. The Cats also scored on a 25-yard pick six by Owen Stroop and then after Chester County got on the board with a 76 yard touchdown pass from Evan Schippers to Tyricus Anderson Tullahoma answered right back as Jacob Dixson housed the ensuing kickoff for his second score of the first half.
Uselton intercepted a Chester County pass on the first play of the second half and from there the Tullahoma reserves ran out the running second half clock. Nathan DeLaughter scored on a 6-yard run late in the third and Ellis Patterson scored a 5 yard rushing touchdown for Chester County late in the 4th to cap the scoring on the night.
The 11-0 Wildcats will now host region 6-4A foe Montgomery Central who beat Jackson South Side 33-14 in the second round of the playoffs next Friday night at 7:00. Pregame coverage starts at 6:00 with kickoff set for 7:00 on 93.9 The Duck.
