Cats & Rebels split on the Hardwood Tuesday

Tullahoma closed the season series with long time rival with Franklin County by splitting a pair of games Tuesday at Tullahoma High School.

In the Girls Game the Lady Cats held the Rebelettes to just 2 first quarter points and 14 total in the first half as they rolled to a season sweep Franklin County with a 59-26 win, their fifth straight.

Freshman McLayne Bobo led Tullahoma with 14 points, while senior Lucy Nutt added 10.

The Lady Cats improve to 8-7 on the year, while Franklin County drops to 6-10

Madison King led the Rebelettes with 10 points.

In the night cap the Wildcats led 29-15 at halftime but the Rebels battled back behind strong second haves from Kai Baker and KeAndre Johnson to outscore Tullahoma 35-15 and edge the Cats 49-44 sweeping the season series as well.

Baker led all scorers with 18 points, while Johnson added 7 all in the fourth quarter. Keegan Taylor led Tullahoma with 10 points.

The loss drops the Wildcats to 4-11 while the Rebels improve to 6-10

Tullahoma travels to Moore County while Franklin County visits Scottsboro (AL) Thursday, both doubleheaders tip off with the girl’s game at 6:00 with the boys to follow.

Our next broadcast on 93.9 The Duck is Tuesday at 5:45 when Tullahoma host Spring Hill in the District opener.

Will is a Middle Tennessee native having been born and raised in Winchester. His love of radio began as a child listening to local stations on the way to school or while falling asleep at night. After High School, where he was active in student media, he attended the University of Tennessee majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media while covering sports for the campus radio station. He then moved into the business professionally as a board op/producer for Cumulus of Knoxville and the Vol Network. His radio journey then took him to Louisiana where he was the lead producer for ESPN New Orleans. After returning home to Winchester, he spent several years broadcasting local sports for stations in Franklin County before joining the Bowman Family. When he’s not at the station, Will enjoys spending time with his wife Shaina and his two fur babies (Toulouse and Belle), cheering on the Vols, Preds and Saints and in the kitchen or behind the grill trying out new recipes.
