Cats Roll Past Colts on Senior Night

The Tullahoma Wildcats dominated Glencliff Friday night to close out the season with a 49-0 victory.

The Cats wasted no time getting on the board as Khani Johnson returned a Colts punt 49 yard for a touchdown to put Tullahoma on top 7-0 with 9:22 left in the first.

Three plays into the second Glencliff drive the Wildcats came up with their first of five turnovers as Liam Grider snagged a interception to set Tullahoma up near midfield. Four plays later Mason Bratcher hit Johnson on a 22 yard TD, johnson’s second of the night, put the Cats up 14-0 with 5:51 left in the opening quarter.

On the first play of the ensuing Colts drive Grider grabbed his second INT in as many plays to give Tullahoma a short field at the Glencliff 46. Nathan Delaughter, who rotated throughout the night with Bratcher at QB, hit Malik Grizzard on a 31 yard pass down the seam to push the Cats lead to 21 with 4:46 left in the first.

A Tullahoma muffed punt extended the next Colts drive but it ultimately ended with a turnover on downs at the Glencliff 37. Five plays later Evan Tomlin raced in from 15 yards to expand the Cat lead to 28-0 early in the third.

Glencliff then fumbled on consecutive kickoffs giving Tullahoma short field which they turned into touchdowns on a 12 yard pass from Delaughter, his second of the game,  to Bryson Steverson and a  one yard rush by Jack Dameron to bump the Cat lead up to 42-0.

Tullahoma added a score on a 49 yard run by Delaughter and Glencliff missed a long field goal attempt in the second half which featured a running clock as the Cats coasted to victory.

With the win the Wildcats close the season at 4-6 overall and 3- 5 in Region 4-5A play.
