The Tullahoma wildcats grabbed an early lead and held on to win the opener of the Class 3A state baseball tournament 3-1 over Tennessee High
Tullahoma scored on a sacrifice fly by Jayron Morris and a single by Ragan Tomlin in the first inning.
Joe Duncan again turned in a strong postseason performance as the senior went seven innings, allowing one run on seven hits, striking out six and walking one.
At the plate Ragan Tomlin led Tullahoma going 2-4 with an RBI and and a run scored.
Tomlin and Duncan earned co- Bowman On Target Marketing Player of the Game honors.
The Victory moves Tullahoma into the winners’ bracket of the Blackman pod of the tournament where they will face the Covington-Montgomery Central victory tomorrow at 12:30 at Blackman High School.
