Cats Win District Tournament Opener, Lady Cats Fall Just Short

As heard on 93.9 The Duck, Tullahoma baseball scored two each in the 4th and fifth to top Spring Hill 4-1 in the first round of the 8-3A tournament Thursday night at Grider Stadium.

Brody Melton and Joe Duncan each had 2 RBI doubles to lead the rally for the Wildcats.

DJ Dillehay held Spring Hill to 1 run over six innings and Wade Collins pitched out of a jam I nth 7th to ear the save.

Tullahoma, weather permitting will travel to top seeded Lincoln County tonight at 6:30 LIVE on 93.9 The Duck. A win puts them in the winners bracket final Monday in Fayetteville at 4:00, while a loss drops them into the losers bracket where they would face Lawrence County in an elimination game Saturday at 2:30 at Lincoln County High School.

Lady Cats Fall Late at Page

Tullahoma softball’s upset bid fell just short at Page Thursday night to open the 8-3A tournament.

The Lady Cats led 2-0 going to the bottom of the third. The Lady Patriots then scored a run a piece in the 3rd and 4th to tie the game and then took the lead with a 2 run 5th. Tullahoma cut the lead to 1 in the 6th but Page held on for the 4-3 win.

The Lady Cats Will play an elimination game Monday at Page at 7:00 opponent to be determined.

Will is a Middle Tennessee native having been born and raised in Winchester. His love of radio began as a child listening to local stations on the way to school or while falling asleep at night. After High School, where he was active in student media, he attended the University of Tennessee majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media while covering sports for the campus radio station. He then moved into the business professionally as a board op/producer for Cumulus of Knoxville and the Vol Network. His radio journey then took him to Louisiana where he was the lead producer for ESPN New Orleans. After returning home to Winchester, he spent several years broadcasting local sports for stations in Franklin County before joining the Bowman Family. When he’s not at the station, Will enjoys spending time with his wife Shaina and his two fur babies (Toulouse and Belle), cheering on the Vols, Preds and Saints and in the kitchen or behind the grill trying out new recipes.
