CFMT Awards Grants to organizations in Bedford County

The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT), a charitable organization dedicated to enriching the quality of life in Middle Tennessee and beyond, announces $2,664,888 in grants to 439 local nonprofit organizations as part of the 2021 annual grantmaking process.

Grant recipients in Bedford County include:

Community Clinic of Shelbyville and Bedford Co. Inc.: To provide financial support for 43 low-income and uninsured adults (Ages 18-59) from Bedford County.

Community Development Center: To provide six lift chairs for seniors with physical needs through an equipment loan program, increasing independence and mobility.

Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation on behalf of Imagination Library of Bedford Co.: To provide one free age-appropriate book per month to children ages birth to 5 in Bedford County through Imagination Library.

Middle Tennessee Spay and Neuter Clinic: To provide free spay and neuter surgeries for 350 feral and community cats in Middle Tennessee.

Shelbyville-Bedford Co. Humane Association: To provide rehoming of 50 pets from low-income, elderly, or disabled persons no longer able to keep their pets.
