Chain Saw Thieves Being Sought by Warren County Law Enforcement

On May 18, 2023, Warren County Deputy Grant Mullican responded to Tri Green Equipment, located at 305 Shangra La Lane, regarding a burglary at the business. Upon arrival, Deputy Mullican was advised that a window to the store had been shattered, and approximately 10 Stihl chainsaws, with an approximate value of $7,500.00, had been stolen.

Warren County Investigators Spencer Pryor and Gary Kemper responded to the scene. The manager for Tri Green Equipment provided video footage that revealed two (2) black males driving a newer model Toyota Highlander pulling into the parking lot of Tri Green Equipment at 1:12 a.m. on May 18th. One of the males is seen entering the store through the shattered side window and removing the chainsaws from the business.

Further investigation by Investigators Pryor and Kemper found that the Tri Green Equipment store located in Mt. Juliet, TN, had also been the victim of a burglary occurring on May 17, 2023, where the same type of chain saws was stolen. Detectives with the Mt. Juliet Police Department were able to use their LPR (license plate reader) to identify the license tag located on a Toyota Highlander used in that burglary as well. Mt. Juliet detectives were also able to identify one of the suspects believed to be responsible for both burglaries.

Felony warrants for Burglary, Theft of Property, and Vandalism have been issued for 22-year-old Gary Dewayne Simmons, II. If you have any information on the location of Gary Dewayne Simmons, II, or the name of the other suspect involved in this crime, please get in touch with Investigator Spencer Pryor or Investigator Gary Kemper at (931) 473-8032 or through the non-emergency number for the 911 Center at (931) 668-7000.
