Clean Sweep for Coffee County Softball in Mary Vowell Classic

Coffee County Lady Raiders swept the Mary Vowell Classic this weekend improving their record to 6-0 on the season

Game 1

Coffee County Lady Raiders defeated Franklin 5-1 on Saturday. 

Franklin got things started in the first inning when Sydney Harris singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. 

Coffee County Lady Raiders pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Olivia Evans singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and Kiya Ferrell singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. 

Kaitlyn Davis pitched Lady Raiders to victory. The righthander went four innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out two. Emily Schuster threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. 

Harris took the loss for Franklin. Harris allowed eight hits and five runs over four innings, striking out four and walking zero. 

Coffee County hit one home run on the day. Davis had a long ball in the third inning. 

Coffee County Lady Raiders saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Ferrell and Davis each had multiple hits for Coffee County. Ferrell went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Raiders in hits. 

Game 2

Coffee County Lady Raiders stole the lead late and defeated Northwest 5-1 on Saturday. The game was tied at one with the Lady Raiders batting in the bottom of the third when. 

Coffee County opened up scoring in the first inning, when Haidyn Campbell grounded out, scoring one run. 

Campbell was the winning pitcher for Coffee County. The lefty surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out nine and walking one. 

Kaitlyn Duprey took the loss for Northwest. The hurler allowed two hits and five runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three. 

Cheyenne Vickers and Brianna Shelton all had one hit to lead the Lady Raiders.

Game 3

Keri Munn was brilliant on the rubber on Saturday, as Munn threw a no-hitter to lead Coffee County Lady Raiders past Mount Juliet 6-0. 

Coffee County Lady Raiders secured the victory thanks to four runs in the fourth inning. Coffee County Lady Raiders put the pressure on, led by triples by Olivia Evans and Kiya Ferrell and by Kaitlyn Davis. 

Coffee County Lady Raiders got things moving in the first inning. Munn grounded out, scoring two runs. 

Coffee County Lady Raiders tallied four runs in the fourth inning. Coffee County Lady Raiders big bats in the inning were led by triples by Evans and Ferrell and by Davis. 

Munn was the winning pitcher for Coffee County Lady Raiders. Munn went four innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out five and walking zero. 

Taylor Haymans took the loss for Mount Juliet. The bulldog allowed seven hits and six runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one. 

Coffee County Lady Raiders totaled seven hits in the game. Ferrell and Davis all managed multiple hits for Coffee County. Davis and Ferrell each collected two hits to lead Coffee County Lady Raiders. 

Coffee County Lady Raiders now improve to 6-0 on the season.
